Stuart Ashmore

Stuart is the Operations Manager and Deputy CEO at SCVO - Sandwell's VCSE infrastructure support body having joined the team back in March 2015.

He arrived in the Voluntary and Community Sector in October 2000 as the Finance Administrator at First Base Walsall - an independent Christan charity supporting homeless young people (aged 16-25) in Walsall - later going on to become the charity's CEO until 2012 when he joined the Evangelical Christian NGO, Tearfund, to work as Project Manager for its 'Big Society'-funded social action project here in the UK supporting local church and community engagement.

Prior to all of that, Stuart spent nearly 15 years working in private sector finance (with NatWest Bank) with his final post being Customer Service Branch Manager in Rowley Regis. He has been married to Megan for 29 years and has two children - Toby (27) and Esme (25). In his spare time, he is a keen musician and keeps active through running and cycling.
