WM funders sharing practice of assessing funding applications. Consider and reflect on what is good practice using an EDI lens.
Foundations are set up for many different reasons and to support a wide range of causes. These differences mean foundations do things in different ways. However, the aims of grant-making are very similar – funders want to reach and support good organisations that are making a difference to those most in need and to do this in a way that makes the best possible use of both funders' time and resources and those of organisations/groups that seek funding.
The workshop is an opportunity for funders to share and reflect on current practice in assessing and reaching groups and organisations using a EDI lens, insights into different approaches and consider what is good practice. The National Lottery Community Fund and Heart of England Community Foundation will share learning from different approaches taken through small to large funding programmes. Birmingham Community Matters and Get Grants will share feedback and experience from applicants and grantees of accessing funding and the assessment process.
