The range of databases that help to record and manage a range of different stakeholders for charities has grown over the years. Organisations need Customer Relations Management systems (CRM) that do more than just hold contact information about their stakeholders. The combination of a 360o supporter view plus the impact that funding has made are key to a sustainable fundraising strategy. Technology is now an essential part of that business model and the CRM market today is full of software to help charities manage membership, client casework, outcome reporting, income processing and much more.
A workshop held on the 13th March 2019 @ Brewin Dolphin, Birmingham considered which system might be right for your organisation. Facilitated by Adapta Consulting, Iain Pritchard and Keith Collins provided an overview of the CRM systems landscape and software choices that are available; steps to take when considering and selecting a CRM system; different approaches to take in introducing a CRM system into an organisation, and case studies where the introduction of a new CRM system failed and what was learnt. The event was tailored to the issues and questions from the participants. Key ones raised were future proofing any CRM system and integrating different systems to produce funding and management reports. A copy of the slides can be found here.
