As further restrictions are introduced by the Government to manage the spread of the coronavirus in the UK, more and more funders are responding to support their existing grantees as well as protect their own staff and being open to additional resources to support a co-ordinated effort to meet the needs of those most vulnerable in society.
Many funders have closed their offices and enabled staff to work remotely. Many have provided reassurances to grantees of their continued support and being open to deal with queries and questions on their funding and how it can be used in this unprecedented situation.
We will endeavour to keep our members and other informed and updated with developments as Government and other respond to COVID-19 pandemic. The impact on grantees and applicants as well as civil society is likely to be significant, in terms of service delivery and business continuity. London Funders – An alliance of funders from across sectors has come together to sign a joint statement pledging to offer support to civil society groups affected by the coronavirus outbreak. To find out in what ways grant funders have committed to particular ways of working click here.
The National Emergencies Trust will collaborate with charities and other bodies to raise and distribute money and support victims at the time of a domestic disaster. The Trust will be there for those victims to facilitate a single point of contact to apply for help with a simple application process.
